Prestwich Heys leave it late to win
Connor Martin’s injury time penalty snatched all three points for Prestwich Heys in their first North West Counties Premier Division win of the season.
Heys beat West Didsbury & Chorlton 2-1 at Adie Moran Park, with Martin’s decisive goal coming five minutes after the 90 – in a much-delayed game where referee Jordan Lockwood had to be replaced late on after becoming unwell.
Ryan Hutchinson’s side completed a turnaround job after trailing for the majority of the game, with Lewis Billingsley opening the scoring for West after 11 minutes.

Takura Sambizi equalised at the 82 minute mark – and after a handball in the box Martin stepped up to secure all three points for his side with his second goal in as many games.
Victory lifts Heys to 19th – and within three points of West further up the table in 14th.
Padiham preserve 100% record in closing stages
Padiham remain the only team with a perfect record after a 3-1 win over Glossop North End – but needed two late goals to maintain this achievement.
Dylan Fitzgerald had put The Hillmen ahead after 27 minutes – a lead Richard Brodie’s side carried into the half time break. Jakub Hebda pulled one back for The Storks on 54 minutes – and as the minutes ticked down the game looked to be heading to a score draw.
Jack Price wasn’t going to allow that to happen however – and netted his third of the season with a minute to spare. Substitute Lucas Wane added the third four minutes into added time as his side bagged an eighth straight win.

Glossop will feel hard done to lose this one, but it’s now four defeats on the bounce for the visitors.
Burscough up to second
Burscough moved up to second with a 1-0 shut-out at Euxton Villa.
Will Lawson scored the game’s only goal on 22 minutes – after also being on target in the weekend rout of FC Isle of Man.
David Dempsey’s in-form side have now won six of their last seven league matches, including back-to-back clean sheets in their last two outings. Villa have seven points on the board since promotion to Step 5.
FC St Helens fight back for three points
Two second half goals helped FC St Helens turn the game around in a 2-1 result at South Liverpool.
George Murray’s goal on the verge of half time had put the home side ahead – but Mike Smith’s side were level on 57 minutes through Tom McNamara.
Parity lasted five minutes before The Stripes were in front for the first time – with Josh Briggs scoring his third in as many matches. It’s also a third straight 2-1 win for his side.
Away day joy for Charnock Richard
Charnock Richard are up to ninth place after coming from behind to beat AFC Liverpool 2-1.
Elliot Taylor’s penalty on 37 minutes took the striker to eight for the season, but his efforts couldn’t stop his side falling to a third straight defeat.
AFC’s lead only lasted two minutes before a Nathan Nickeas equaliser – and Fenton Davies won it for his side just in time for the half time team talks. Charnock win back-to-back league games for the first time this season.

Green wins it for Stockport Town
Bit of a theme developing in this midweek round of fixtures – don’t score first. Pilkington were another victim of this in their 2-1 defeat to Stockport Town.
Andrew Starkey gave the home side the lead midway through the first half – but two second half goals within ten minutes of each other from George Kattah and Toby Green handed all three points to The Lions.
The prolific Kattah has already scored 11 times across all competitions this season. Green gets his first as his side maintained their position in the top five.
Home win for Wythenshawe
Wythenshawe were 3-1 victors over nearby Abbey Hey in front of 408, the division’s highest midweek attendance.
Aaron Dwyer quickly opened the scoring after three minutes, with Henry Carne and Eoin Charles making sure of it in the second half.
Bobby Carter’s goal with 15 minutes to play gave the visitors slight hope, but it’s now three games without a win for Simon Heaton’s side. Wythenshawe climb into the top six.

Back-to-back wins for Longridge Town
Longridge Town moved into the top ten with a 3-0 home win over Litherland REMYCA.
Three second half goals – one from Matthew Van Wyk and a Liam Atkinson brace – was enough for the Lancashire side to seal back-to-back league wins for the first time this season.
REMY’s seventh defeat of the league season leaves them looking upwards in second bottom place.
Quick-starting Cheadle return to winning ways
Cheadle Town had the game sewn up in the opening 25 minutes – as Jake Davies’ side cruised to a 3-1 win over struggling FC Isle of Man.
Edson Cata put the home side ahead after 13 minutes – and a rapid Sheriff Njie pair of goals on 18 and 24 minutes proved to be decisive.
Charlie Higgins pulled one back for The Ravens after the break, but the island side remain bottom of the pack after a fifth straight defeat.

Narrow win for Chadderton
Chadderton bounced back from a weekend loss to beat Atherton LR 1-0 at Crilly Park.
Lewis Byrne’s penalty on the hour won it for the visitors – moving his tally up to 12 for the season already.
Defeat here is LR’s first in eight matches across all competitions – and the first time they’ve failed to score this season.
City of Liverpool vs Irlam abandoned
The match between City of Liverpool and Irlam was abandoned after an altercation between the home side’s Fidan Hajdari and Irlam’s Alex Francis spread to the tunnel.
Both players had received red cards after an incident in the Irlam penalty box, but the trouble overflowed into the tunnel resulting in other players trying to break it up. The referee then abandoned the game in first half added time.
City of Liverpool were 2-0 ahead at the time of abandonment.
