Burscough reach fifth gear
Burscough bounced back from their first defeat of the North West Counties Premier Divison season with a 5-0 home win over FC Isle of Man.
David Dempsey’s side recorded their biggest win to date with a second half flurry off goals, with the game goalless until the 57th minute.
Five different goalscorers got in on the act, with Christian Mukoku, Matty Hamilton, William Lawson, Callum Laird and Ste Rigby all on target.

Another clean sheet for the Lancashire side leaves them with the joint meanest defence in the league – having conceded only five goals, equal with leaders Padiham. Paul Jones’ Isle of Man side are currently bottom on goal difference and have conceded the most goals so far.
Padiham maintain 100% record
Speaking of Padiham, Michael Morrison’s kept their perfect start intact with a 2-1 win at Abbey Hey.
Brad Knox’s second goal in as many games got the ball rolling on 26 minutes, but Moses Yoak brought Simon Heaton’s side back into it with 20 minutes to play. It would be Jason Hart who won it for the visitors at the 75 minute mark.
A seventh win in as many games leaves The Storks two points clear at the top of the table. Abbey Hey slip to 16th.

Rams win twice in a week
Ramsbottom United have had a good week; earning back-to-back wins with a 3-0 midweek result over Wythenshawe and by dispatching AFC Liverpool 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The Rams scored twice in each half to see off a slow-starting AFC side who have one win on the board from seven games. Maine Walder opened the scoring on 39 minutes, with Harvey Hayhurst on target in first half added time.
Jacob Holland-Wilkinson trebled their advantage immediately from the restart, with Hayhurst completing his brace with ten minutes left to play. Elliot Taylor netted a late consolation for the visitors, but his side are joint bottom with three other teams on four points.

Irlam book-end derby to win
A Greater Manchester derby swung in Irlam‘s favour, who scored at the very beginning and very end of the game in a 2-1 win over Prestwich Heys.
Declan Daniels was on target within the first minute to put Irlam ahead, but the game remained at 1-0 until the 70 minute mark with Connor Martin levelling the game for Heys.
It looked to be ending that way until added time – with John Johnston netting the second two minutes into injury time as Irlam recorded a fifth league win on the bounce. Heys remain the only side yet to taste victory this season.

Pilkington return to winning ways
A second half blitz put Pilkington back on track as Jack Edwards’ side won for the first time since July while beating Glossop North End 4-0.
Andrew Starkey opened the scoring after 53 minutes, with Ben Duckworth later adding two of his own either side of one from James Howell.
Pilks end a winless run of eight matches in all competititons, but it’s now no win in five by the same metric for North End.

Wythenshawe too good for Barlick
Wythenshawe were up early to see off Barnoldswick Town at Hollyhedge Park – with all three goals in a 3-0 win coming in the opening half hour.
Aaron Dwyer added his third and fourth goals since joining from Atherton Collieries, with Darius Palma also on target – all within the opening 26 minutes.
James Kinsey’s side brushed off back-to-back defeats in their last two matches across league and FA Vase to climb into the top seven. This fixture was reversed as a result of the ongoing sewage leak issues at Barnoldswick.

Darr hat-trick fires Charnock to victory
Jordan Darr’s rapid hat-trick helped Charnock Richard recover from an early setback to beat City of Liverpool 4-2 at Mossie Park.
The visitors got off to a strong start with two Adam Morgan goals putting them in firm control at the 15 minute mark, but the sides went in level thanks to a Nathan Nickeas penalty and Darr’s first of the afternoon on 44 minutes.
The hat-trick would be quickly completed – with further goals coming on 47 and 55 minutes. A first win in three matches for Ryan Donnellan’s men lifts them into the top half.
Patience is a virtue for LR
Atherton LR returned home with another three points in the bag with a late, late 3-1 win at Cheadle Town.
The game was goalless until the 70 minute mark – with Tom Lawless putting LR in front from the penalty spot. Sherriff Njie pulled Cheadle back into it seven minutes later.
As the game headed to a score draw, Lawless again converted from 12 yards in added time – before Tom Romano completed the smash and grab four minutes into injury time.

Stripes win Friday night game
FC St Helens came from behind to beat Euxton Villa 2-1 on Friday night.
Jack Wyers-Roebuck opened the scoring for the home side after 40 minutes, with his side maintaining the lead into the half time break.
Joe Barker pulled one back for St Helens on 52 minutes – and Josh Briggs completed the turnaround with 12 minutes to play. Victory moves Mike Smith’s side into the top six.
Late win for Longridge
Longridge Town notched up a third league win of the season with a 2-1 win at Chadderton.
Liam Atkinson put his side ahead at the break with his 11th of a profitable campaigan so far, but Jack Sloan equalised for Chadderton midway through the second half.
It would be down to substitute Jack Anderton to make the difference – netting the winner three minutes from time. Defeat sees Chadderton slip to eighth place, while Longridge move into double figures points wise.
Lions into top five
One of the teams climbing above Chadderton are Stockport Town, who were 1-0 winners over Litherland REMYCA at Stockport Sports Village.
Keane Barugh’s opener on six minutes proved to be the only goal of the game as The Lions won for the first time in three league matches. Alex Tucker had the opportunity to level the game from the penalty spot, but his low shot was easily saved by Josh Schofield.
An eighth defeat in a row leaves Luke Denson’s side second bottom of the table and another blank scoresheet sees them as the division’s joint lowest scorers alongside Prestwich Heys.
At the other end our #1 produced a fine penalty save to earn a clean sheet 🧤

West edge past South
West Didsbury & Chorlton were also 1-0 winners – on the road at South Liverpool.
Chris Rowney’s goal on 42 minutes was enough for West to record a third win of the season.
Martin Ryman’s South Liverpool side fall to back-to-back league defeats for the first time this season.
