Colne pick up much-needed win
Colne climbed off the foot of the North West Counties Premier Division with a 3-1 win at Stockport Town – as the Lancashire side picked up their first three points since August.
Andy Harrison’s side also racked up a first away win of the campaign at Stockport Sports Village, despite falling behind to Dan McLaughlin’s opener on 16 minutes.
Colne drew level through Muhammad Ahmed shortly after, whose equaliser sent the sides in level at the break. Jack Holt’s penalty put the visitors ahead for the first time on 53 minutes, and Rio McEvoy wrapped up the three points with his first league goal for the club three minutes later.

Today’s result sees ex-Darwen boss Harrison pick up his first league victory in Colne colours, while Town will consider this a shock defeat having won their past four on the bounce.

Late show sees Pilks dismiss Heys
Colne were able to leapfrog Prestwich Heys in the table after the Bury side fell to a 3-2 defeat at Pilkington. Heys held the lead for much of the game through Mike Burke’s opener on 12 minutes – but a second half blast from the home side secured victory.
It took until 74 minutes had passed before Pilks were even level, as Ryan Beigan equalised before Jack Bott quickly put his side ahead two minutes later. Beigan added his second of the afternoon with ten minutes left, and despite Burke completing his brace in added time, it’s Jack Edwards and co who take the win.
It’s four defeats in five for Heys, who now fall eight points adrift of third bottom Pilks.

Unbeaten Bury concentrate on football
At the other end, Bury are up to second after beating AFC Liverpool 2-0 in the early kick-off. Despite a turbulent week off-field, Dave McNabb’s tunnel-vision approach sees his side remain unbeaten – and close the gap to table-toppers Ramsbottom United to five points with four games in hand.
With Rammy in FA Vase action, The Shakers didn’t miss their opportunity and two Djavan Pedro goals – who now has four goals in the last the last three matches – saw them return to winning ways after a midweek draw.
AFC’s three-game winning streak comes to an end, with Phil Stafford’s side in seventh, five points shy of the playoffs.
FC IoM tighten grip on top 5 slot
That gap has increased thanks to FC Isle of Man‘s 3-0 win at Squires Gate. The Ravens have consolidated their top five position with a fifth win on the bounce.
Dean Pinnington netted in both halves for Paul Jones’ side, either side of Sean Doyle’s tenth of the campaign – and third in as many games.
It’s a third straight loss for the Blackpool side who remain in 19th place.
Best of the rest
Tom Lawless’ second half goal was enough for Glossop North End to see off Longridge Town, and Barnoldswick Town won by the same scoreline at FC St Helens thanks to Gareth Hill’s 26th minute effort.
North End have now kept three clean sheets in November across all competitions, while Barlick have five wins in their last seven league outings.
Declan Daniels scored twice as Irlam came from behind to take a point in a 2-2 draw with Lower Breck. Tom Croughan and Jesse Dowling were on target for Breck, with Daniels replying each time as the sides again shared the spoils in a repeat of the reverse fixture in September.
Runcorn Town battle to victory
Just two games at Step 6 this weekend – with ten-man Runcorn Town picking up a vital three points in a bottom-of-the-table clash with Shawbury United in the First Division South.
The visitors were 2-1 winners, with Jorge Dwyer opening the scoring immediately before Jordan Cobley’s red card on 20 minutes. Despite being a man down, they doubled their lead from the penalty spot through Tom Ruffer – with Marc Stallard netting a late consolation for the hosts.

In the First Division North, Ashton Athletic fell to a 1-0 loss at Steeton in the final minute.
