Stockport Georgians too strong for Nomads
Stockport Georgians piled up the goals again as they saw off nearest rivals Cheadle Heath Nomads 4-1 in the North West Counties First Division South.
A goal in each half for both Joe Collins and Ollie McFadyen gave Andy Jenkins’ side a second win. Edson Cata briefly levelled the game for Nomads with his second in as many matches.
Tuesday’s game saw the Cromley Road side net four goals for the second successive game.

Runcorn keep that winning feeling alive
Runcorn Town returned the short distance from Ashville with another three points and a second clean sheet in their back pockets.
New signing Orran Mushet scored both goals for Darren Moore and Liam Page’s side, who failed to score past the same opposition last season.
Even at this early stage, Runcorn are one of only two sides yet to concede a goal, along with last season’s playoff finalists Stafford Town.
Millers win on their travels
New Mills banked their first win with a 1-0 shutout at Sandbach United.
Jelanil Blake’s goal just before half time was enough to settle it in the away side’s favour, as the hosts got their season underway on Tuesday thanks to the division’s odd number of teams.
The Millers survived Darius Photiou’s second half red card to collect the win.
Lairds on the board with late rally
Cammell Laird mounted a late fightback to pick up their first point in a 2-2 draw at Barnton.
The Cheshire side looked to be on their way to consecutive wins after an early long range effort from Benji Mullarkey was followed by Matthew Argent-Barnes’ first of the season.
The visitors weren’t done though, and Rory Alldis pulled one back on 75 minutes – before substitute Conor Doyle equalised with eight minutes left on the clock.
North West Counties First Division South results in brief
Elsewhere, Stafford Town saw off Wolverhampton Sporting Community 2-0 and Shawbury United beat Market Drayton Town 3-2. Both winners join Runcorn Town and Stockport Georgians with 100% records at the top of the table.
Telford Town picked up a first win at Step 6 by seeing off fellow-promoted side Haugmond 3-0. Eccleshall beat Foley Meir 2-1, with Wolverhampton Casuals seeing off Allscott Heath by the same scoreline.
