Late Padiham flurry maintains 100% record

Padiham returned to the top of the North West Counties Premier Division on Bank Holiday Monday – dethroning Ramsbottom United after beating them 3-1.

683 – the day’s biggest attendance – saw a late Storks fightback win the game after Richie Baker broke the deadlock for Ramsbottom on 57 minutes.

Freddie Machell quickly equalised, and then it was the turn of the substitutes – Jakub Hebda put his side in the lead with 20 minutes to play before Lucas Wane added a third in added time.

The Rams took full advantage of playing in the only league fixture on Saturday to climb into the top spot after thumping FC Isle of Man 4-1.

Padiham have won all five league games this season – and that means Ramsbottom fall to a first defeat.

Atherton LR reach fifth gear

Atherton LR notched up a fifth straight win across all competitions after smashing five past Stockport Town without reply.

Tom Romano got the ball rolling after nine minutes, and added the third in first half added time. Tom Lawless doubled the lead with his third of the season to put his side 2-0 up within ten minutes.

The scoring wasn’t done there, with Kieran Alley netting from the bench and George Chadwick rounded off the win in added time with his first of the season.

A bruising defeat for Town is unsurprisingly their worst result of the season to date.

First Step 5 win for Euxton Villa

Euxton Villa picked up their first win as a Premier Division club while beating Litherland REMYCA 3-2.

An own goal and Dan Singleton’s effort put Villa 2-0 up approaching the break, but Eric Durnell gave the visitors hope on 42 minutes.

Alex Colquhoun re-established the two goal advantage on the hour, and despite Jordan Monthe’s goal with ten minutes to play, REMY have yet to pick up any points since the opening two matches of the season.

Wythenshawe take third win of season

Wythenshawe were comprehensive 4-0 winners over ten-man FC Isle of Man at Hollyhedge Park.

The Ammies were ahead after 16 minutes through Darrhyl Mason, who also scored in Friday night’s FA Vase game. A Darius Palma brace came either side of Callum Sherry’s red card for The Ravens, before Aaron Dwyer also made it two goals in as many matches since his move from Atherton Collieries.

It’s been a testing start for FC Isle of Man this season, who have shipped 18 goals in seven games to date.

Taylor hat-trick key for AFC Liverpool

Elliot Taylor’s hat-trick helped AFC Liverpool return to winning ways as they beat Pilkington 4-0 at Ruskin Drive.

Two goals in each half for Phil Stafford’s side ended a run of three straight defeats across league and Cup, with Taylor scoring the first three goals. He completed his hat-trick with two penalties after opening the scoring on eight minutes.

Ayden Garrigan completed the rout from the bench, but it’s another tough day for a Pilkington side who have lost six on the bounce in all competitions.

Burscough up to second

Burscough remain unbeaten after a 3-0 win at South Liverpool.

David Dempsey’s side are up to second after a fourth league win, with two goals from Ste Rigby and one from Ethan Devine before the break wrapping up another three points.

South Liverpool’s third defeat of the season leaves them in ninth place.

West leave Purps blue

West Didsbury & Chorlton came from behind to beat ten-man City of Liverpool 4-1, with Fidan Hajdari dismissed with the game at 1-1.

Rob Murphy put The Purps ahead with his second in as many games on 29 minutes, but his side went in to the half time break 2-1 behind.

The returning Lewis Billingsley levelled the game from the penalty spot on 43 minutes, and Harvey Roberts added a second in added time.

Kristian Holt’s second half brace wrapped up a second win of the season for Paul Marshall’s side, while relegated City of Liverpool prop up the rest with just two points on the board.

Chadderton in a rush to win

Goal-friendly Chadderton remain the division’s top scorers after beating FC St Helens 4-1.

The Oldham side have racked up 19 goals in five matches and added all four goals in this match in the first half.

Lewis Byrne is already up to nine for the season after a brace in this game, including one from the penalty spot. Matty Barlow and Ryan Shenton also got their names on the scoresheet, with Luc Ferry netting early in the second half for The Stripes.

Late winner for Irlam

Irlam snatched all three points thanks to Toby Humphries’ late winner in a 2-1 result at Cheadle Town.

After a goalless first half, Sherriff Njie had put the home side ahead after 55 minutes, only for Lucas Edwards to equalise shortly after.

The game looked to be heading for a score draw until Humphries won it with two minutes to spare, as his side bounced back from their FA Cup exit last time out.

Clean sheet for Abbey Hey

Abbey Hey picked up a first league win in three and leapfrogged Glossop North End in the table after beating them 2-0.

The debuting Alfie Holland-Curwen opened the scoring for the home side after 63 minutes, and Hartley Barrett added a second deep into injury time.

A second defeat of the season leaves The Hillmen in 19th place.

Longridge see off Charnock threat

Longridge Town picked up a second win of the season while beating Charnock Richard 3-1.

First half goals from Liam Atkinson and Connor High put the home side in charge before Louis Holt gave the visitors hope just before the break.

As the game approached the hour Jack Anderton sealed it for Longridge as Charnock fell to a third defeat of the season.

Prestwich battle back for point

Prestwich Heys grabbed a point in injury time in a 2-2 result at Barnoldswick Town.

Goals from Will Procter and Ethan Gough had given Barlick the advantage, but the Heys fightback began on 77 minutes when Connor Martin pulled one back – and the recovery was completed by Dre Taylor five minutes into added time.

Despite the positives Heys are just one of two sides yet to register a win. A first draw for Barlick leaves them on seven points.
