Liverpool Feds into top half with away win

Liverpool Feds moved into the top half of the Women’s National League North with a 3-1 win at Hull City Ladies.

Leanne Duffy’s side turned the game around having trailed 1-0 at the break thanks to Hope Knight’s first half scorcher.

A late fightback for the Merseyside team started with Katie Anderson’s equaliser on 73 minutes – with substitute Emily Cole doubling the lead two minutes later. An own goal put the game beyond doubt in Feds’ favour with ten minutes to play.

Feds vault into sixth place in the table after a second league win – and hand Hull their first defeat at the same time.

Burnley remain top of the pile

Burnley remain unbeaten as the table-toppers recorded a 2-1 win at Sporting Khalsa.

A very early goal from Claudia Walker – just 35 seconds in – gave the visiting side a dream start. A rout looked possible when Millie Ravening added a second by the 11 minute mark – but the scoring was done for Louise Roberts’ side.

Khalsa threatened to come back into the game with Megan Cann’s goal five minutes into the second half – but Burnley prevailed, and remain top of the table on goal difference after a third win in four league outings.
