Nantwich Town seal home win
Nantwich Town have the Northern Premier League Division One West summit within their sights after a 2-0 home win over Atherton Collieries.
Goals from at either end of the game secured victory for Jon Moran’s side, with Kai Evans’ second minute opener looking to have secured a narrow win before Byron Harrison sealed it in added time.
The Dabbers took full advantage of the top two, Widnes and Vauxhall Motors, both not playing as the bad weather and the incoming Storm Bert dented the fixture list. Victory over Colls takes Nantwich to within two points of the top spot, with all three sides having played the same number of games.

Nantwich are unbeaten in four overall and have wrapped up six home wins on the bounce. It’s an end to Atherton’s three match winning run, but they remain two points outside the drop zone.
Stalybridge Celtic into playoffs
Ten-man Stalybridge Celtic picked up a second 4-3 win in as many matches while beating Chasetown in an entertaining fixture at The Scholars Ground.

Danny Glover’s sixth minute penalty gave Chasetown the lead, but it would be Celtic who went in at the break ahead thanks to goals from Jack Irlam and Joe Duckworth’s 32nd minute effort.
They went in a man light however after Duckworth was dismissed just six minutes after scoring for a second yellow card. The home side were quick out of the traps to punish Celtic and were level shortly after the restart through Sam Wilding.
Despite being a man down, Celtic regained the lead through Kyle Brownhill and sealed it with 20 to play through Liam Tongue. Joe Buckley’s goal in the closing stages ensured a nervy finish, but it would prove to be a consolation as Jon Macken’s side took another three points – which lifts them back into a playoff place.
Congleton Town into top four
Congleton Town extended their unbeaten run to seven games with a 1-0 win over Wythenshawe Town and moved into the top four as a result.
Max McCarthy’s goal midway through the first half was enough for The Bears to take a fifth win in seven.
Rory Fallon’s Wythenshawe Town team remain in the bottom four after a fourth defeat in five matches.

Back-to-back wins for Bootle
Bootle picked up a second win in as many matches while beating City of Liverpool 2-1 away from home.
All three goals came in the early going, with Courtney Duffus and Ben Hodkinson on target for the visitors before Michael Howard rounded out the scoring on 22 minutes.
Mick McGraa’s Bootle are into the top ten, but an eighth straight loss for The Purps sees them drop to the foot of the table.
Defeat for Wythenshawe and Trafford
That’s because Hanley Town have climbed off the bottom spot with a 3-1 home win over Wythenshawe – their first league win since August.
Two Dylan Scott goals and one from Lucas Sant gave the home side a strong lead before Darrhyl Mason got his side on the scoresheet in the final minute.
The Ammies are now without a win in five ahead of their next game against Chasetown.
Finally, Trafford were beaten 2-1 at home by Hednesford Town – with Daniel Trickett-Smith winning it for the visitors after Matty Morgan had cancelled out Jake Jervis’ opener.
Trafford slip to sixth following consecutive losses.
