First win on the board for Witton Albion
Witton Albion ran out 3-1 winners at Stalybridge Celtic to pick up their first victory of the Northern Premier League Division One West season.
Tom Hoyle opened the scoring after 34 minutes, and Freddy Garbutt quickly doubled the lead immediately after the half-time break.
Benni Smales-Braithwaite pulled one back for Celtic, but that would be as good as it gets for the home side. Substitute Joe Duckworth added a third in added time after replacing Garbutt on 87 minutes.

Victory here allows Witton to leapfrog Stalybridge in the table by virtue of goals scored. It’s a first defeat for Celtic.
Atherton Colls off and running
Another side breaking their duck are Atherton Collieries, who were 2-1 winners at ten-man Newcastle Town.
Despite Noel Brindle’s red card after just half an hour, it was the home side that broke the deadlock through Joel Jones on 47 minutes.
Chinedu Uche levelled the game for Colls with 25 minutes to play, and the fresh legs of Kielen Adams won it from the bench for Michael Clegg’s side with three minutes to spare.

Unbeaten Linnets win again
Runcorn Linnets continued their strong start to the season with a 2-1 home win over Trafford, who are now the only side yet to register a point.
Karl Marginson’s side did take the lead in the Friday night game – with Matt Davies on target just before the break.
Home captain Ryan Brooke started the fightback just before the hour, and the in-form Scott Bakkor won it on 84 minutes with his sixth in four games across league and FA Cup.
Bootle come from behind for 3 points
Bootle were 2-1 winners at Darlaston Town despite going in at the break in a losing position.
James Rowland netted the opener for Darlaston after 25 minutes, and it would be 52 minutes before Bootle replied through Connor Rankin.
Courtney Duffus won it for the visitors on 74 minutes to propel his side into the top eight.
Leaders Lower Breck remain unbeaten
Lower Breck‘s impressive start to life at Step 4 continues as they remain unbeaten – but lost their 100% win rate after a 2-2 draw with Kidsgrove Athletic.
Logan Cousins put the Staffordshire side ahead after 22 minutes, before Alex Cherera equalised and Lewis Buckley sent the hosts into the break 2-1 ahead.
Now it was the away side’s time to fight back, and Macauley Taylor’s goal on the hour ensured the points were shared. Lower Breck remain at the top of the pile and are the only side with a double figure points tally.

Honours even at Nantwich
Nantwich Town and Mossley couldn’t be separated in a 1-1 draw at The Swansway Stadium.
Mossley took the lead before the break through Reece Webb-Foster, but the home side’s Ben Greenop levelled the game on 47 minutes after scoring his first goal since joining from Step 6 Sandbach United.
This result leaves Mossley still looking for their first win of the season after three draws and a loss.
NPL West results in brief
Congleton Town and Bury shared a goalless draw in front of 910 at The Cleric Stadium.
Bury remain unbeaten but shot-shy, with two goals in three matches. Play-off finalists Congleton are still to win this season.
It was the same scoreline for Vauxhall Motors on their travels to Chasetown, as the Ellesmere Port side drew for a third successive league game.

Finally, Wythenshawe Town fell to a 3-0 home loss to Stafford Rangers. Goals from Ashley Fallon, Daniel Cockerline and Joe Cuff wrapped up a third win of the campaign for the away side.
