Chadderton in seventh heaven
Chadderton thumped South Liverpool 7-2 on an extraordinary weekend in the North West Counties Premier Division that saw 54 goals scored across the 12 fixtures – an average of 4.5 per game.
The Oldham side even had time to go 2-0 down before embarking on an almighty comeback – with Neil Weaver’s penalty and Joshua Osifo’s goal putting the visitors well ahead after 25 minutes.
Chadderton were all square at the break though – with Matthew Barlow and Benito Lowe on target to take the game to 2-2.

The home side ran riot after the break, with Lewis Byrne netting a 20 minute hat-trick, Lowe adding his second of the afternoon and Adam Dale also getting his name on the scoresheet past the shellshocked visitors.
LR bulldoze City of Liverpool
Atherton LR‘s 6-0 demolition of City of Liverpool saw the visiting side emphatically pick up their first points of the campaign following back-to-back defeats.
Cal Hunter’s early brace either side of Joe Bacon and Tom Romano goals gave the visitors a commanding lead within half an hour. Romano’s second of the day took him to four for the season already on 58 minutes, with Tom Lawless wrapping up the win 20 minutes from time.
The promoted side’s momentum is seemingly back on track when this result is added to their progress in the FA Cup last week over higher-ranked opposition. It may only be early doors, but relegated City of Liverpool will not enjoy seeing their side rock bottom of the fledgling league table once again.
Daniels double key in Irlam win
Irlam came out on top in an eight goal thriller at Charnock Richard in a game played at a blistering pace – with seven goals before the break.
Nathan Nickeas opened the scoring for the home side, with Lucas Edwards levelling the game at the ten minute mark. Luke Power again put his side ahead, and a 25th minute own goal gave Charnock breathing space – for a matter of seconds.
Declan Daniels pulled one back immediately, and his Irlam side went in ahead thanks to goals from Ethan Cartwright and Kingsley Williams. Daniels would settle it once and for all with nine minutes left to play.
Abbey Hey bag first win
A second half turnaround saw Abbey Hey pick up their first win of the season in a 4-2 result over a Pilkington side still smarting from an 8-1 loss in the FA Cup in midweek.
Bobby Carter had put Abbey Hey ahead on eight minutes, but it was the hosts who went in ahead thanks to goals from Ryan Beigan and Ethan Danku.
Carter levelled the game on the hour, and Rhys Webb re-established their lead five minutes later. Finlay Hampson added the final touch in added time as Pilkington drop points for the first time.

Perfect Padiham win on the road
Table-toppers Padiham are the only side left with a 100% record after just three games – a testament to how competitive the Premier Division is.
The Storks were 2-1 winners at Stockport Town – but had to fight back after Ethan Padden put the home side ahead after nine minutes.
Town held the lead into the break – but were pegged back ten minutes into the second half by Matthew Makinson’s equaliser. Joel Brownhill won it for the away side with his fifth of the season across league and Cup.

Hillmen conquer FC Isle of Man
Glossop North End survived a late scare to win the late kick-off at slow-starting FC Isle of Man 3-2.
The first North End goal broke the deadlock on 33 minutes; with Olly Parker’s goal almost immediately followed by Charlie Higgins’ equaliser.
Lewis Reilly restored his side’s advantage after 53 minutes, and when Aeron Bardsley netted a third five minutes from time, it looked done and dusted. Cue Luke Booth’s goal five minutes into added time to set up a dramatic finish, but North End held on to claim successive wins in Douglas.
Cheadle Town pick up the points
“Only” the two goals at Park Road, but it’s two wins and six points on the board now for Cheadle Town after they saw off AFC Liverpool.
First half goals from summer signings Sheriff Njie and Saul Henderson were enough to wrap up the points for Jake Davies’ side.
AFC are still waiting for their first victory in the league.
Barlick take first win
Barnoldswick Town are off and running with a 3-1 win over Litherland REMYCA.
Lewis Farmer put Barlick ahead after five minutes, only for Alex Tucker to level the game shortly afterwards. All four goals came before the break – with Gareth Hill netting twice to give his side the win.
Burscough win Friday night football
Burscough have their first win of the season under their belts with a 2-0 Friday night win at Prestwich Heys.
Sam Turner’s eighth minute goal was the difference for much of the game before Matty Hamilton settled in midway through the second half. David Dempsey’s side are unbeaten in the league to date with five points on the board – with Prestwich yet to win.
Wythenshawe steal the win
Longridge Town found the net eight times in midweek, but drew blanks against Wythenshawe – who snatched all three points in the closing stages thanks to Darius Palma’s second goal in as many games.
The Ammies are unbeaten in league and Cup since an opening day loss to Padiham.

Lazenbury hat-trick in vain as Villa draw late on
Jordan Lazenbury netted a hat-trick for West Didsbury & Chorlton – and still wasn’t on the winning side as promoted outfit Euxton Villa rescued a point in stoppage time.
Lazenbury’s first two goals looked to have given West a comfortable lead, but Villa began the fightback via new signing Sean Ince on 63 minutes – before Raj Uppal quickly equalised the game.
Undeterred, Lazenbury lay claim to the match ball with his converted penalty on 82 minutes restoring the home side’s lead once again – before that man Uppal popped up again to head home and send the majority of the 746 in attendance home deflated.
Rams blocked by Stripes
Ramsbottom United remain unbeaten, but dropped points for the first time while drawing 1-1 with FC St Helens.
Matt Dudley’s third of the season gave Steve Wilkes’ side the half time lead, but The Stripes levelled the game through Tom McNamara just before the hour.
The sides traded victories last season in their first games against one another following St Helens’ promotion to Step 5.
