Cal Hunter’s second half goal was enough for Dave Jones’ men to progress after losing both their opening matches in their return to the North West Counties Premier Division.

Hunter’s goal on 47 minutes see LR continue a recent rich vein of form in the cup competitions which includes a run to the fifth round of last season’s FA Vase.

Ossett suffer a second consecutive loss in the extra preliminary round, having gone out by the same scoreline to the now-defunct Widnes in 2024-25.
