Irlam victorious in Yorkshire
Step 5 Irlam were 3-0 winners at Northern Premier League Division One East outfit Hallam in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round.
With shocks few and far between for the North West sides involved, this is an impressive result for John Main’s side.
Two goals from Billy Hasler-Clegg – the opener on 37 minutes and a last minute penalty – were complimented by Abubakar Muhammed’s goal just before the break. The home side ended the game with ten men following Jack Dando’s red card in the final ten minutes.

It’s the second time in four seasons Irlam have eliminated this opposition at this stage – prevailing 5-2 in a home replay after the original game finished 1-1.
The joy of Eux for Villa
Euxton Villa produced one of the results of the round while dismantling Atherton LR 6-0 in their first ever home FA Cup match.
Vaughn Green’s fifth minute goal was a sign of things to come, with Joel Booth and Ben Pendlebury also on target in the first 45. Ethan Darr added the fourth, and sub Charlie Simmons added a late brace to complete the rout.
It’s already Villa’s best performance in the competition, having exited at the first opportunity last season. This is LR’s heaviest ever defeat in the FA Cup.

Away day joy for Trafford
Also going through are Trafford, who were 2-0 winners at Step 5 counterparts Worsbrough Bridge Athletic.
Scott Sephton put his side ahead midway through the first half, and the win was secured three minutes from time by Harry Norris’ header.
Trafford’s best performance in the competition is reaching the third round of qualifying, most recently in the 2013-14 season.
Ruthless Clitheroe punish AFC
Clitheroe didn’t take their foot off the gas, and romped to a 5-0 home win over ten man AFC Liverpool.
Sean Newton and Rio Alston already had their names on the scoresheet when Jordan Monthe was dismissed after just 32 minutes.
Jason Gilchrist added a third before the break, and goals from Jordan Carroll and Alhagi Touray completed the rout with 20 minutes to spare.
South Liverpool tame Rams
South Liverpool are through after seeing off divisional rivals Ramsbottom United 4-2 in their own back yard.
The visitors had to work hard for this win, and took the lead on three separate occasions through Neil Weaver (9), Sam Mullally (15) and Joe Clarke (61). Macauley Wilson (11) and Gareth Hill (32) responded for the home side, before Weaver wrapped it up with his second 12 minutes from time.
It’s a vast improvement on last season’s FA Cup performance for South, who were thrashed 6-0 by Bury at the same stage.

Sefton the difference for Nelson
Nelson won the battle of the promoted sides, with Sefton Gonzales scoring the crucial goal in a 3-2 win over Stockport Georgians.
The sides traded blows in the first half, with Nelson twice taking the lead through Lewis Brown and Luke Hepple, only for the prolific Lucas Berry on target twice to haul Georgians back into it.
Gonzales’s goal 20 minutes from time ensured Nelson progressed to the next stage for the second time in three seasons.
Carlisle progress at long last
Carlisle City made it through the EP round for the first time in four seasons with a 2-0 home win over Northallerton Town.
A pair of Jordans sent Dan Kirkup’s side through – Little’s header just before the break and the win was confirmed with Irving’s goal in the closing stages.
The Sky Blues’ best performance came way back in the 1979-80 season, when they took Bishop Auckland to two replays before losing 5-0 in the third match.
Witton avoid banana skin
Witton Albion eventually prevailed in a tough looking away day at Chadderton, with the Cheshire side running out 2-0 winners.
Two goals from substitute Joe Edwards sent Ben Harrison’s side through on 71 and 83 minutes.
It’s the third time in four seasons that Chadderton have exited the FA Cup at the first hurdle.
Replays aplenty to come
Burscough and Droylsden couldn’t be separated, with the home side pegging back their opponents after two quickfire goals from Emmanuel Udjor Omorogbe and Nellson Van put The Bloods in control by the half hour mark.
Callum Laird started the fightback from the penalty spot, and after Droylsden’s Harry Shipton was sent off for two bookings, Daniel Mahaffy levelled the game.
The replay will have to be played behind closed doors at The Butchers Arms, with last week’s abandoned game with South Liverpool not counting towards Droylsden’s stadium ban as the game was not completed.
Barnoldswick Town had two draws heading into Saturday’s game with Atherton Collieries – and leave with a third after holding the Step 4 side to a 2-2 draw.
Will Procter earned the draw with his equaliser on 67 minutes, after Louie Potts and Alex Doyle looked to have turned the game in Colls’ favour. Charlie Rowlands-Whiteoak opened the scoring on 32 minutes.

Abbey Hey held the higher-ranked Ossett United to a 1-1 home draw, with Ivan Egharevba’s second half penalty cancelling out Jaanai Gordon’s opener. A trip to Yorkshire awaits Matty German’s side in midweek.
Glossop North End showed battling spirit to secure a replay with Tadcaster Albion despite playing most of the second half with ten men.
An own goal had given the Yorkshire side the half time lead, and Jordan Schofield’s red card on 54 minutes could have proven the fatal blow.
Owen Warburton’s strong start to the season continued with the equaliser on 77 minutes, and The Hillmen withstood the pressure to bring the tie back to home turf on Tuesday.
Mossley fought back from 3-0 down at Silsden to secure a replay. Sean Kgwakgwa, Connor Marsh and Mason Fawns were on target for The Lilywhites.
A late Connor Spiers brace rescued a replay for Runcorn Town in a 2-2 draw with Dearne & District.
FA Cup extra preliminary round results in brief:
Litherland REMYCA were bright-eyed and bushy tailed to do the damage in the first ten minutes against Charnock Richard. Dilon O’ Callaghan (6) and Mark Madden’s penalty (9) won it early on, with Jordan Darr pulling one back before the break for the visitors.
A goal in each half sent Wythenshawe through at the expense of fellow promoted side Padiham. Prince Anuniru and Aaron Dwyer were on target, while visiting goalkeepr Kier Barry was sent off midway through the second half.
Prestwich Heys went through by the same scoreline, with second half goals from Rob Worrall and Bryson Appleton seeing off NCEL Premier side Handsworth.
Two Kevin Spinelli goals and one from Harry Lynn eased 1874 Northwich through against Step 5 Rossington Main in a 3-0 home win.

Jason Walker’s injury time goal finally broke the deadlock and sent Kendal Town through at the expense of their Northern League rivals Newton Aycliffe.
Cheadle Town also won 2-0 on the road, with Ethan Padden and Stephen Maylett on target in each half against Wythenshawe Town.
Longridge Town are also through by a single goal, with Harry Williamson coming off the bench to make the difference on 51 minutes and see off Keighley Town.
FC St Helens secured a 2-2 draw at North Ferriby in added time, with Curtis Hill taking this one to a replay. Tom Scarborough opened the scoring after 22 minutes with this peach:

Northwich Victoria are still yet to score – or concede – a goal this season, but will be the happier of the two sides after taking the higher-ranked Beverley Town to a replay after their goalless draw on Sunday.
West Didsbury & Chorlton also held Step 4 opposition to a draw, with Max Leonard on target for the visitors at Garforth Town. Charlie Marshall’s equaliser forces the game to a replay at Brookburn Road. Nantwich Town were held to the same 1-1 scoreline by Sporting Khalsa.
Winsford United lost 2-0 to the higher-ranked Mickleover, while Congleton Town will want to quickly forget a 3-2 home loss to the lower-ranked AFC Wolverhampton City.
Penrith took the lead at home to Bridlington Town, but Matthew Williamson’s goal on the quarter hour was cancelled out by the visiting Will Marshall and Ifeanyi Nnenanya in a 2-1 loss.
