Runcorn Town off to strong start
Runcorn Town began their Midland Premier adventure with a 4-2 home win over Lye Town.
The reigning North West Counties First Division South champions fell behind early on however, with Alfie Steward opening the scoring for the visitors with just two minutes on the clock.
Things would quickly change before the break, and it was the hosts who went in with a two goal advantage after Connor Spiers, Charlie Harland and Jamie Apperley all found the target.

Sam Flower added a fourth shortly after the restart, before Steward netted his second, but it proved to be no more than a consolation.
Georgians make light work of Tividale
Another side taking their move into new surroundings in their stride are Stockport Georgians, who ran out 4-1 winners at Tividale.
Lucas Berry (15) opened the scoring for Andy Jenkins’ side, but the two teams were level again within ten minutes. No further goals before the break left the game finely poised.
Berry went on to complete a memorable hat-trick with the second and fourth goals, either side of Harry Lambert’s 65th minute effort. Three unanswered second half goals gave the Cromley Road side plenty to celebrate on their journey home.
Late show secures points for Winsford
Winsford United left it late, but ultimately took all three points with a 2-0 victory over ten-man Dudley Town.
Despite the visiting captain Dom Perkins being sent off after 40 minutes, the game remained goalless until deep into the second half – with home captain Ste Jenyons breaking the deadlock with a well-placed header on 75 minutes.
Substitute Mykah Skervin grabbed the second in added time, as Winsford look to follow up a third place finish last season.
Cheadle fight back to win
Cheadle Town met a familiar foe in their opening match as a Midland Premier side, and came from behind to beat Brocton 2-1.
Christian Blanchette’s creative effort hit the post and went in to give the home side the lead, but Sam Adegoke brought his side back into it six minutes before the break.
Josh Fowles would go on to win it for the Stockport side on 78 minutes, as the two clubs played a league fixture for the first time since the 2022-23 season.
No goals for West or Wythenshawe
West Didsbury & Chorlton fell to a 1-0 defeat at Abbey Hulton United following their lateral transfer into the Midland Premier.
Aaron Bott’s goal on 39 minutes was enough to separate the two sides.
Wythenshawe Town were beaten 2-0 at home by Uttoxeter Town, with Jake Avery and Rob Thorley on the scoresheet for the away side in the opening 25 minutes.
Finally, Northwich Victoria played out a goalless home draw with Romulus.
